The Buddha and the Starving Tigress and Her Cubs, February, 2010. woodcut, 24 x 15.75 " edition of 40, black and white: $400 edition of 25 hand colored : $600 This print tells the story of one of the Buddha's many reincarnations, when he saw a starving tigress who was about to eat her young; he threw himself down into her den as food, and in that moment was reincarnated. From the Jataka tales, which pre-date Aesop.
