Chinatown Sketchbook by Joung Ju

12 Weeks in Chinatown
The majority of the population of Chinatown consists of people from Fukan and Canton provinces. They immigrated here through the railroad in the late 1800's. Since the ratio to men and women were 900 to 12, the chance to marry and take on a new life here was impossibility. Most of the immigrants felt they were only here to stay a little while to make money, and go back to China to find a wife and settle down.
