The Wolf and the Stork

A wolf in distress asked a stork to reach into his throat
and remove a bone that was lodged there. When the stork had done so,
he asked the wolf for some compensation for the rescue.
"You have received reward enough," said the wolf, "I didn't swallow your head!"
... It seems that Turkey and other nations
friendly to Germany will have to be content with
very little gratitude in exchange for their support.
